The daily management is performed by the Head of Department, Professor Bo Riemann and his Deputy Head of Department, Professor Niels Peter Revsbech with administrative assistance from a secretariat headed by Preben Jensen.

At the Department a number of committees serve to advise the management on specific matters. In addition the six research groups select a Head, who take care of the contact between management and research groups as well as of certain administrative tasks. The committee chairmen together with the Section Heads constitute an Advisory Board for the management.
