28.-29.6.2011 Adaptions of Heart Function to Stressful Conditions

Det er en stor glæde at præsentere programmet for symposiet ” Adaptations of Heart Function to Stressful Conditions: A Tribute to Docent Dr. Hans Gesser” den 28-29. juni. Symposiet er arrangeret for at fejre Hans Gesser akademiske karrier ifm at han overgår fra docent til docent-emeritus denne sommer. Som I kan se her, har vi sammensat et rigtig flot program

17.-18.5.2011 Biodiversity in the Silicon Age

Datamængder der bare vokser og vokser. Det lyder som et frygteligt mareridt, men for mange naturvidenskabelige forskere er de massive datamængder et drømmescenarie. Biologerne har gavn af dem og datalogerne kan håndtere dem. Massive datamængder, stærkt stigende regnekraft og en rivende udvikling indenfor dataanalyse driver en revolution i forskningstilgangen indenfor økologi, miljøvidenskab og datalogi. Denne revolution har ført biologer og dataloger tættere på hinanden. Deres fælles kamp er rettet mod at håndtere de datamængder, der medfører, at vi langt bedre end tidligere kan belyse de yderst komplekse sammenhænge i Jordens økologiske systemer. Derfor har forskere ved Datalogisk og Biologisk Institut på Aarhus Universitet taget initiativ til denne konference.

10.09.2008		8th Meeting of the Århus Stress Group The final program for the 8th meeting of the Aarhus stress group is now available. Program The meeting will take place at the Economy lecture halls, room 025, building 1324. The lecture halls are in the university park, close to the corner of Nordre Ringgade and Nørrebrogade (see http://www.au.dk/da/kort/byg1324.htm ). Formålet med mødet er at skabe et forum for personer, der arbejder med biologiske og hydrologiske aspekter af ferskvandsforskning i Danmark. Med dette nationale ferskvandssymposium håber Plantebiologi, at kunne øge kendskabet til den aktuelle ferskvandsforskning i Danmark og at skabe nye rammer for tværdisciplinært samarbejde.
